This week involved a lot of hands on training for all three Battalions. Battalion 1 is still in the field doing ride time on the City’s medic units and at the local hospital’s emergency rooms. Battalion 2 started doing hands on skills in the EMT-E class. They are learning how to start I.V.’s , inserting an airway, and administering drugs through I.V. Battalion 3 went out to an abandon house and learned how to place ladders, how to safely work on a roof, and how to remove smoke from a house. At the end of the week Battalion 3 spent two more days in a local junk yard learning how to cut open a car to rescue a victim from a motor vehicle accident.
